Scout

Scout is one of the horses in the HeartWorks herd, and the quiet authority among them. He watches before he joins, questions before he believes, and has no interest in being rushed into anything. Thoughtful, independent and deeply observant, Scout notices the steps people skip when they are too focused on the outcome. His paintings carry that same depth, inviting you to slow down, look again, and find what is true for yourself.

Scout is one of the horses in the HeartWorks herd, and Unfold is one of the paintings he created.

Scout has never been interested in doing something simply because everyone else is doing it.

When HeartWorks first began painting with the herd, Scout watched from the sidelines. He wasn’t ready, so he didn’t participate. He took his time, watched the process, decided what he thought of it, and eventually chose to step in on his own terms. Once he was ready, he was all in.

That feels very much like Unfold.
Things open when they are ready.

To Scout, it feels like the first stretch after resting. Morning light slowly reaching across the field. Grass moving in the breeze. A path revealing a little more of itself with each step.

In Scout’s words:
“Unfold feels like the slow, deliberate way the sun spills over the pasture, touching everything softly.”
And maybe our favourite part: “Everything has its time to bloom, just like I have mine.”
That feeling became this yoga mat.

Scout’s original painting moves into a meadow that is just beginning to open, with grasses, wildflowers and one bloom standing among them. Inviting you to unfold here. Put your hooves to the earth.

It’s a place to stretch, move, breathe, or simply take your time. Nothing on this mat is asking you to get anywhere faster.

Unfold was physically painted by Scout through the HeartWorks coherent-animal painting process. Every colour and original mark in the artwork began with him. Yes, a horse painted it.

About the artist: Scout is the quiet authority of the HeartWorks herd. He watches before he joins, questions before he believes, and has very little interest in being rushed. He is a thinker, a teacher, and a horse who has always preferred finding his own way in his own time.
